Carla Perlo's Birthday Fundraising Campaign

How fortunate I am to be born on Christmas Day and to be approaching my 75th birthday. Unfortunately, as many of you know in the Summer of 2025, I was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis (a serious blood cancer). Research has resulted in a way to put this disease into remission with a stem cell transplant. Luckily, my son was eligible and willing to be my stem cell donor, and I had the transplant on June 10th, 2026. Of course, along with that was lots of chemo and other drugs. Now, after six months of recuperation, I am beginning to feel better. I still have a long way to go. Thankfully I found a Doctor, Dr. Tania Jain at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, an expert in the field for my type of cancer who was willing to treat me. 

I am raising money to continue her research so that more people with Myelofibrosis can be saved. Thank you for considering making a contribution toward this research and finding ways to make the process more effective and less painful.
