Marilyn’s Garden

Honoring Marilyn Glosserman and reflecting her lifelong love of year-round gardens, her desire to nurture both the earth and our souls, her deep gratitude for every day of sunshine, and her abiding hope for the new Spring when all would again bloom.

Sibley's Meditation Garden was a meaningful place to Marilyn and her husband, Michael, while Mrs. Glosserman was a cancer patient at Sibley. Marilyn pursued her life-long passion for gardens and gardening and found great comfort in beautiful spaces. To honor her memory, Mr. Glosserman proposed to Sibley that it reimagine the garden as a healing place for all. Sibley professionals have been collaborating with Mr. Glosserman and Bradley Site Design, a DC-based landscape architecture firm to realize this objective. The garden design has been completed, and we anticipate construction to begin in Spring 2025, allowing a dedication in Spring 2026.

The Glosserman family is donating to the Sibley Foundation the funds necessary to construct the Meditation Garden, naming it “Marilyn’s Garden.” We are now soliciting gifts to establish an endowed fund for ongoing maintenance of the Garden.

Multi-year gifts can be made over up to five years. The names of Donors to Marilyn's Garden will be published in Sibley’s e-newsletter. The names of Donors gifting $10,000 or more will be listed on a recognition element in Marilyn’s Garden, with specific naming opportunities throughout the garden starting at $25,000. Donors at the $100,000 level or above will also be recognized on Sibley’s main donor wall. Public recognition of gifts will take place only with agreement from the donors.
