Zane Rettstatt, Jr. devoted more than 20 years to his role as a project manager with the Department of Public Works, retiring in 2022. He played a significant role on the Wellness Committee for many years, serving in various capacities, including as Committee Chair, and continued his involvement even after retirement. One of his proudest accomplishments was the County’s tobacco-free resolution. Zane welcomed everyone with a warm smile and sincere kindness, and his absence will be deeply felt.
In memory of Zane, the St. Mary’s County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with the Johns Hopkins Children's Center—a charity that was very important to him—to establish the Caring for Kids: Zane Rettstatt, Jr. Memorial Fundraiser. We encourage you to consider making a donation. Every dollar raised will go directly to meet the most urgent needs of the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
Help us achieve our goal of $1,000 by December 31st! Your support makes a difference!
