The Judith “Ski” Lower Memorial Educational Fund has been established in memory of Judith “Ski” Lower, RN, MSN, CCRN, CNRN, founding Nurse Manager of the Neuroscience Critical Care Unit (1981 – 2005) to honor her extraordinary and enduring contributions to the profession of nursing and to the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Remembered as a fearless and passionate advocate for excellence in nursing practice, “Ski” was a committed clinician and educator who taught us that knowledge is power.
“Ski” built the enduring core values of Clinical Excellence, Nursing Education, Neuroscience Expertise, Leadership, Nursing Advocacy, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Scholarly Research deeply into the culture of the NCCU thereby influencing the professional development of hundreds of nurses, physicians, clinical technicians, and support staff, then and now.
