The Messa Mustangs are raising money to support research and improved treatment options for children with brain tumors. We have been doing this event for a while and have raised over $300,000 for children’s brain cancer research. This is a very personal mission for many of the people involved since we have lost family and friends, and we know children fighting this horrible cancer.
All the money we raise is donated to the Johns Hopkins Department of Pathology’s Division of Neuropathology and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Both are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations dedicated to searching for the causes of brain tumors, improving treatment options, and finding a cure for childhood brain tumors.
Our fundraising culminates with our 2024 Stick It to Brain Tumors Women’s Ice Hockey Benefit Tournament, March 22-24, 2024, at Union College’s Messa Rink, Schenectady, NY. Teams from across New York State, Massachusetts, and Connecticut are participating. For more information, visit the Stick It to Brain Tumors site.
