Malcolm Stanley Grossman
Malcolm Stanley was born on June 23rd around 8:05 pm. He was a BIG, beautiful, strong baby boy weighing a little over 10 pounds. Unfortunately, due to birth complications he passed away after 12 hours and after being transferred to Johns Hopkins NICU, where he received exceptional care. The nurses and doctors at the NICU walked a very difficult path along with both Joe and I. They cried and grieved with us as we made some incredibly hard decisions. In the end, we got to hold our baby boy for his last breaths. We saw him open his eyes, heard him make little cries, and watched him respond to our touch. We kissed him, hugged him, and sang to him. When we couldn’t be by his side, the nurses sat with him and sung him lullabies. Throughout all of this, the NICU doctors and nurses offered us the utmost compassion and empathy. Several doctors told us what an honor it was to care for him. We are truly touched and blessed by them. Not a moment will go by that we don’t have Malcolm in our hearts. While we wish he could be alongside us in our journey, we sincerely hope to be with him again one day.
Since so many people have reached out, wanting to offer support in some way, we have decided to establish this fund as a way to remember our baby. We thank everyone for all of the gracious support we have received thus far. It has been what has helped to carry us through.
With love,
Lauren, Joe, Wyatt, Julian, and always Malcolm
