Evyn's Bat Mitzvah Fundraiser and Drive for Johns Hopkins

The doctors, nurses and child life specialists at The Johns Hopkins Hospital will always hold a very special place in my family’s hearts. Having been the recipient of their care throughout my life, I know firsthand how the extraordinary expertise of the pediatric urology and child life teams can positively impact the social and emotional well-being of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In honor of my Bat Mitzvah, I am personally donating my time and funds to support and further their incredible work. Won’t you please join me?

How you can join me:

1. We are raising money to support the Johns Hopkins Division of Pediatric Urology and their bladder exstrophy (BE) program and activities. Support we raise will go towards expanding the science, training and delivery of care to improve the outcomes of children and adolescents faced with BE, as well as purchasing copies of A Story About You and Your Special Bladder. This is a book made for kids with BE and helps explain, in simple terms, how the bladder works, what exstrophy is, and the possibility of future surgery as the child grows. We hope to purchase as many of these books as possible, so that all BE patients can receive a copy when they come to Hopkins for care.

You can make a gift using the form above.

2. We are hoping to gift many of the items that the Johns Hopkins Child Life Department has on their wish list for the kids that come to the hospital for care. The Child Life team works in the inpatient and outpatient settings to enhance the emotional and social well-being of patients and families throughout their health care experience. They use developmentally supportive play and other activities to help kids and families understand and prepare for treatments and procedures, before, during and after hospitalization. All sorts of donations can improve a child’s hospital stay by promoting health and even bringing some fun!

You can purchase an item off of their wish list and have it shipped directly to Johns Hopkins by clicking here:
